How old are your campers?
Our campers range in age from 8 to 16 years old. We group them by interests to ensure everyone has a fun, enriching experience with peers of similar interests.
Are you a sleepaway camp?
Yes! We are a fully sleepaway camp, meaning campers stay on-site for the entire duration of their session, living in comfortable cabins and experiencing the full magic of overnight camp life.
How long are your sleepaway sessions?
We offer 3-week and 6-week sessions. For families looking for more flexibility, a 2-week session may be arranged upon request.
Do campers make their own schedules?
Absolutely. Campers enjoy a 100% self-choice schedule, selecting from a wide range of activities based on their interests and goals. Our experienced Unit Leaders are always available to help guide their selections and offer support.
What activities do you offer?
We offer an exceptional variety of activities, including fine arts, music, theatre, dance, circus arts, film, improv, watersports, and landsports. There’s something for every creative spirit and adventurous camper
Where are you located?
We are located in the heart of the Adirondack Park in beautiful upstate New York—a peaceful and inspiring natural setting perfect for creativity, exploration, and community.
How many campers and staff attend each session?
Each session hosts around 200 campers and is supported by approximately 140 staff members, all of whom are age 21 or older. This ensures a high level of personal attention, supervision, and mentorship.
How many activities can my camper do daily?
Campers can participate in up to 7 one-hour activities each day, plus additional evening programs and special events. With so much variety, no two days ever feel the same!
Is theater a core part of the Long Lake experience or just an extra?
Theater is a major part of our camp. In addition to music and fine arts, campers can take part in full productions, making it feel like a true theater summer camp experience.
How often do campers get to perform?
We produce more than 30 shows every summer. This means campers can audition for multiple roles and often perform in more than one production, something that sets us apart from many summer theater camps.
Does my child need to audition to join the theater program?
No auditions are required to join the program. Every camper is considered for roles, and casting is based on interest, effort, and fit—not experience.
Can younger kids participate fully in theater activities?
Yes. Campers ages 8 to 16 are all welcome to participate. Roles and rehearsal schedules are adjusted to be age-appropriate and supportive.
Is Long Lake considered a sleepaway theater camp?
Yes. We are a full overnight theater camps program where campers live on site and engage in daily rehearsals and shows.
What’s the best time to register for theater camps in the summer of 2025?
